Can you age green tea?

That is the question that I asked myself while holding a nondescript pouch I had just retrieved from the back of my tea cabinet. It was still sealed, unlabeled and had a long code handwritten on one side. I knew exactly what it was. A micro-lot Korean green tea I had purchased at a tea tasting two years ago. Unintentionally, I had been putting off opening it, waiting for the perfect occasion. Honestly, my first response to the question “can you age green tea?” would be a resounding “no”, but I was about to find out firsthand anyway.

My New York City tea adventures

This year I celebrated my birthday in New York City. I had not been in NYC in 4 years and back then “tea tourism” was not as high on my list of priorities as it is now. After a long weekend of celebrations and sightseeing, I carved out some time for tea-related things. NYC has a high concentration of tea spots, so it was not easy to prioritize. Luckily, I had sent out a message to my NYC tea friends and fellow tea bloggers beforehand and I was looking forward to meeting them in person and to their tea recommendations.

5 things you might not know about me

Last week, fellow tea blogger Nicole Martin shared 5 things her readers might not know about her on her blog Tea For Me Please. I really enjoyed getting to know her a bit better through that post! She challenged fellow tea bloggers to write their own versions of this post, so here I am with mine! Thank you, Nicole, for sharing such a fun challenge!
